Who is CAPS?
College Achieve Public Schools (CAPS) is a network of K-12 schools in Paterson, Plainfield, North Plainfield, Asbury Park and Neptune Township.

Academics
Every CAPS student takes at least three AP classes. CAPS’ first senior class, CAPS Central’s Class of 2023, passed the AP exams at a rate of 45.7%.
CAPS keeps improving the level of achievement.
In the latest rankings:
- CAPS Paterson earned a top 10 ranking in the state in both math and ELA on the School Performance Report.
- CAPS Asbury Park earned the third largest gains in the state in ELA, and improved in every grade level in reading, math, and written expression on the NJSLA.
- CAPS Central growth rates were among the best in the state in math and ELA in NJSLA.

Last year, 100% of CAPS seniors were accepted into college, and 100% received financial awards.
Teachers
CAPS understands the importance of having educators serve as strong role models for scholars. CAPS Central Executive Director Corri Ravare says, “Studies show that students are more successful when they have teachers who look like them. That’s why we prioritize diversity across our organization.”
At CAPS Paterson, 40% of educators are African American — compared to 6.5% across New Jersey.
