Students arrive, greet their friends and both of their teachers. Our model puts two teachers in every classroom in what we believe are critical years: K-3 and transition years in middle school.

The Reading Wonders program is a systematic approach to the teaching of phonics and reading comprehension. We couple this with a total of 2.5 hours of daily reading instruction.

You can hear a pin drop as students weigh evidence as they dive into the Toulmin Writing Model. This model, utilized in elite private schools, teaches students to make a claim, define and support the claim with evidence and finally consider and engage with possible counter-claims.

No one worries about making a mess as our scholars play with color and shade as they paint in art class. Our visual art students have staged gallery openings as well as illustrated and self-published their own comic books.

Bienvenido a clase de Español! Scholars begin learning languages as early as Kindergarten. After 5th grade, students can also choose to learn Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, French and German.

Debate is alive and well in this social studies discussion as preparation for an upcoming Advanced Placement (AP) test is underway. AP Programs expose students to rigorous, college-level course material while in high school.

Music fills our corridors as band practice begins. Music is just one of the several after-school programs CAPS offers its scholars to help them become well-rounded individuals.

Time to move our bodies! CAPS uses sports to increase the level of students' preparedness to attend and succeed in college. Students are encouraged to build character by learning the importance of focus, discipline and teamwork.
